How to Sell Product Bundles in WooCommerce (Step-by-Step Guide)
Looking for a way to increase sales in your WooCommerce store? Product bundling is a powerful strategy that makes shopping easier for customers while boosting your revenue. Instead of buying individual items, shoppers can grab bundled products at a discounted price.
At Flexicodes, we specialize in WooCommerce optimization. Whether you need customized bundling strategies, plugin setup, or full eCommerce solutions, we’re here to help.
Why Product Bundles Work
Bundles make life easier for customers. Instead of choosing between separate products, they get everything they need in one convenient package—often at a lower price.
Studies show that discount levels play a big role in bundle sales. A small discount might not be enough to sway buyers, but increasing it to around 45% makes bundled offers much more enticing.
Another factor? Bundle size. Expensive products sell better in smaller bundles, while cheaper items perform well in larger packages.
“Without a bundle, a customer might choose Product A when they really need Product B. This can lead to refund requests. Bundles solve this by offering both solutions together.”
— Chris Klosowski, President of Easy Digital Downloads
WooCommerce’s default grouped products feature has a major drawback—it doesn’t let you set a special bundle price. That’s why we recommend using a dedicated bundling plugin.
Step 1: Install the YITH WooCommerce Product Bundles Plugin
To create product bundles the right way, you’ll need a plugin. We recommend YITH WooCommerce Product Bundles. It’s easy to use, highly customizable, and works with any WooCommerce theme.
This plugin is available in both free and premium versions. The free version gives you basic bundling features, while the premium one unlocks advanced options like variable product bundles and custom purchase limits.

Step 2: Create Your First WooCommerce Product Bundle
Once the plugin is installed, go to Products » Add New inside your WordPress dashboard.
Here’s what to do:
- Give the bundle a name and description.
- Scroll to the ‘Product data’ section and select Product Bundle from the dropdown menu.
- Go to the Bundle Options tab and add products to your bundle.
For each bundled item, you can:
- Choose specific product variations.
- Hide or show product names and descriptions.
- Add individual discounts (if using per-item pricing).
- Set purchase limits for each item.
Step 3: Choose Your Pricing Strategy
Now, decide how your bundle will be priced:
- Fixed Bundle Pricing – Set one price for the entire bundle. Great for promoting deals like “$120 for the complete set.”
- Per-Item Pricing – Each item keeps its own price and discount. This works well for customizable bundles.
For fixed pricing, you can also show the savings amount on the product page (e.g., “Save $30“).

Step 4: Configure Checkout & Shipping Settings
Next, fine-tune your bundle settings:
- Stock Handling – Choose to show out-of-stock bundles or hide them.
- Cart & Checkout Display – Show the bundle breakdown or keep it as a single item.
- Shipping – Ship bundled items separately or together with a single shipping fee.
Step 5: Customize Bundle Appearance
Presentation matters. Inside the ‘Customization’ tab, you can:
- Choose how bundle prices appear (e.g., “From $99” or “$80 – $120 range”).
- Add custom labels like “What’s Included” or “Complete Your Kit.”
- Change the ‘Add to Cart’ button text to make it more engaging (e.g., “Get the Bundle” or “Claim Your Deal”).
Step 6: Publish & Promote Your Product Bundle
Once you’re happy with the setup, hit Publish. Your WooCommerce product bundle is now live!
